The Hotel Eden au lace has reopened after a renovation in January and we wanted to visit the Eden Kitchen & Bar. In the past, the hotel and its restaurants were quite old fashioned and now it is the opposite. If you enter the restaurant, you hear lounge music by a DJane which is really nice. The new Eden Kitchen & Bar Restaurant looks very cool and modern. Fresh design, reminds one to a Yacht Club, really very nice. Staff are also friendly but still a bit disorganised - too much staff not exactly knowing what to do. We had an aperitif which was nice but served without any nuts or other stuff to enjoy along the aperitif (what I would have expected from a high end restaurant). As a starter we enjoyed Ceasar Salad. It‘s a small bowl with the salad, tastes very good but it costs CHF 29 (for one portion). No special decoration, nothing, just a regular bowl of salad for a starter - for CHF 29 I would have expected more. For main course we had half a lobster with spinach (instead of fries) which costs CHF 65. Lobster is expensive and it tasted also very good, the spinach was about one spoon instead of the fries. Also good taste but like the ceasar salad, no special decoration, just a plate with food and this for CHF 65. For dessert we had chocolate mousse - great taste and BIG portion - definitely enough for 2 and price CHF 20 is absolutely reasonable. All in all: starter disappointing because small, nothing special and much too expensive. Main course ok, price relatively high, dessert really nice and worth the money. Atmosphere is nice and cool. It was good going there once, but I would not go for a 2nd time unless prices are 30% less, then it is ok.
