Despite our hotel having an elegant restaurant, complete with a "transparence" of this and a "vapeur" of that we had not had a happy meal there. We stumbled across Les Tonnelles as it was close to a soft play centre we went for the kids and were very happy. Very friendly service coped with my poor french. The pizzas were large, wood-fired oven baked and tasty. There is a kids menu including spaghetti, penne, pizza or chicken nuggets plus dessert for 8.50 and the pizza in that size was very generous. I had an Italian steak tartare special which was an interesting change but probably would have been better off with a regular steak that I spied on another table. The chocolate mousse was a sticky rich glass of sin. We were probably lucky to get a table when it opened at 7pm, it filled up almost immediately, mostly with appreciative locals it seemed. While not the most atmospheric (the fluorescent lighting doesn't help here), it has a local charm that makes a noisy family feel at ease and our young ones and us were very happy.
