We were welcomed into La Grotta and treated like royalty! This place—from the ambiance to the food—is truly something special. The wine was great and the food also. We started the first course with an fabulous lamb pate & had two veal dishes. Both served in a pan (feeling like home) with incredible sauces and came with just the right amount of potato and vegetable. We also had an octopus salad which was fresh and perfectly dressed. I am a dessert person by nature & generally not so easy impressed but this was the best Cappuccino cake I have ever had! All I know is it was huge and served in a big coffee cup. The service was extremely nice, so attentive without being intrusive. When we asked for a picture together - the waiter tried different angles and made sure we're happy with it. It didn't need to do that and that gave our visit there a warm and personal touch to it. The tall young man who is the owner or manager is an incredibly gracious host. Great way to end the work day in Split :)
