Sobre Museu de Arte de São Paulo Assis Chateaubriand
One of the best known museums in São Paulo, founded in 1947 by Assis Chateaubriand, businessman and patron, was the first modern museum in the country. The building, with straight lines, huge span and innovative features, was designed by Lina Bo Bardi, becoming a landmark in the history of 20th century architecture.
MASP holds the most important collection of European art in the Southern Hemisphere, with a total of more than 10 thousand works, also covering African, Asian and American artistic production. In addition to a permanent exhibition of its collection, it has temporary exhibitions of the most diverse types (check the current schedule on the website)
