Sobre Edifício Copan
An icon of the city and of Oscar Niemeyer's renowned architecture, it was designed in the 1950s, originally commissioned by the Pan American Hotels Company, to house residential units and a hotel, however, only the residential development was completed. There are 1160 apartments, distributed in 6 blocks, with about 2000 residents, a commercial area on the ground floor.
Niemeyer's fluid and rounded shapes break the roughness of the capital, with its characteristic sensual curves, having been a symbol of modernity in its time.
